Additional The Apostle : A Life of Paul Information

The Acclaimed, Authentic Biography of the Early Church's Greatest Evangelist--the Apostle Paul.Master storyteller John Pollock makes Paul and his amazing story freshly alive, so that you can know the greatest apostle much as Luke and Timothy did as they traveled with him. As you turn the pages, you'll sense Paul's motives, his aims and priorities; what mattered to him; and what he was willing to die for.

John Pollock, a Cambridge-educated clergyman, became Billy Graham's authorized biographer early in the evangelist's career. His biographies include The Master: A Life of Jesus, available from Victor Books in this pocket-size format. John Pollock and his wife, Anne, reside in Devonshire, England.

What Customers Say About The Apostle : A Life of Paul:

A must read for any student of the Word whether young or mature. This book became my study guide for the book of Acts and the Epistles. This book will provoke you into a radical commitment to the great commission and being willing to lay down your life for the sake of the gospel. A great book. Pollard fills in where we are left with gaps but doesn't water down the truth of the New Testament as a historical reality and spiritual light. I love books that prod me into scripture and a deeper life in God - which is what this book does. My wife loves this book too.

The book is in very poor condition; it's old and ragged looking, and I'm not comfortable touching it. Where has it been and how many hands have touched it. I'm not germophobic, but if it were in a doctor's waiting room, I'd NEVER pick it up.

Pollock in this novel type book. John Pollock's The Apostle: A Life of Paul is a must read for anyone interested in learning about the man who wrote such a large portion of the New Testament. Mr. That's not to say it's a novel, but rather it reads like a novel. The book wonderfully takes you from Saul's beginnings as an extraordinary intellectually gifted Jew and keeper of the law, to his conversion to Christianity to become Paul, and then his pilgrimage as a deliverer of the gospel. All stops along Paul's way are covered by Mr. Great details are given throughout the story providing valuable background on the customs and how people lived during Paul's walk.If you are interested in further studying Paul outside what he wrote in the Bible I highly recommend this book.

This book is written like a novel, but the research is so extensive it stands halfway between fiction and a historical treatise. You feel like you're living the excitement of the early church as you move with Paul through his adventure-filled life. While some judgments had to be made in order to tell it like a story, he even gives footnotes explaining other options at certain points. This is a wonderful way to get started in New Testament history.Dennis McCallum, author Organic Disciplemaking: How to promote Christian leadership development through personal relationships, biblical discipleship, mentoring, and Christian community

The author does an excellent job of making you feel like you are on the journey with Paul - a journey that changed the world. I read the book in conjunction with the Book of Acts and Pollock does an excellent job of keeping the book biblically accurate. I highly recommend it.
